I'm thinking of moving to http://amadorandrea.wordpress.com/ since LJ doesn't offer one free name change. Le sigh. This will remain to be my archive I guess. I have this problem of sticking to one. Let me see if I'll get a hang of it =]

'Til then, I still have my Tumblr, Twitter, Plurk and the like if you'd still wanna read me.

I'm not going to throw a party. I wanted to give you guys a peaceful sunny day + work holiday! Didn't I tell you about that year I decided to throw a fancy-shmancy bash that turned out to be the day of coup d'etat or the year it rained so hard that 50% of my guests didn't come or.. well let's just say it's for the national good that I'm sacrificing a day without my birthday celebration.

However, I did get to have a simple lunch today at the office =] Big guy's 36" pizza, 3 pastas from A Venetto and some finger food! 'Twas nice!

Tomorrow I'm going to chill and if I don't finish my paper tonight, you'll find me dealing with my weekly readings for my Arch202 class. LOLJK I'll have milk tea and my long-awaited dinner at Trellis!!!!!!!!!

Big shout out to my bestfriend Liz Cabanero aka my favorite Polar bear who just celebrated her birthday last Nov28!!

Paire cocktails and pastries

G/F Cocoon Boutique Hotel, Sct. Tobias corner Sct. Rallos, 1103 Quezon City, Philippines
Alright, alright so you never tried cocktails and dessert together. So there's this quaint little place near Timog that offers you just that. According to their facebook page:

"PAIRE Cocktails and Pastries would like to introduce a new cocktail experience: pairing sweet and savory cocktail foods with some of the famed international mocktail and cocktail drinks. We would like to capture the occasional cocktail party ambiance and make it into an everyday experience. We commit to bringing the ordinary an extraordinary twist and giving every guest a delectable cocktail pairing that is at par with the pleasures of a boutique experience at The Cocoon Boutique Hotel."

Must try:
  1. Eskimo - a spiked ice cream sandwiched in yummy cookies!
  2. Cheese and Wine combo - No, it's not cheese slices. Just trust me. It's awesome! It's white wine paired with an cheese tart (really, I don't even know what's in it but it's amazing!) It's my absolute favorite. I'm sorry I wasn't able to take a picture 'coz I finished it all before I snapped a shot of it hehe :P
  3. Spiked halo-halo
  4. Beer matched with Ligid! For you pulutan lovers out there.. you've got to try their Ligid.
They officially open this Wednesday, November 30! They have other after meal pairings and it's quite the experience =] Kids can try the non-spiked desserts of course. They do serve breakfast meals, sandwiches and pasta (from the afternoon 'til evening).

I know you want it!

No, I'm not going to stop talking about my hair
[info]andrea_model

Simply put: I love my hair! (I know: what a ditzy comment) BUT one thing I don't particularly like is the small curls it was made into via digi perm. Well not that I'm disappointed about it, I just wish the curls looked more like huge curls ala-Katherine in Vampire Diaries and less like ringlets BUT my hair was previously rebonded last February and the stylist said my curls wouldn't last that long if they were curled bigger.

With lots of hairstyles I've tried over the years, I could say that no hairstyle is wash and wear. Unless you're a skin-head --or close to that. Rebonded hair is close to wash and wear but it doesn't dry with body unless you dry your hair using the fan while flipping your hair upside down+serum. (ok, that's another story so let's skip this) Let me tell you how I trick my ringlets into bigger curls.
  1. Shampoo-Conditioner routine
  2. Towel Dry hair (no rubbing)
  3. Have my hair dry
  4. At 90% dry, I'd put curlers on my hair
  5. Product (mousse usually. they say wax is also good)

Well it's not a fast process but if I wanted to look decent, some extra effort is needed. If I have the time, why not? Well, on on-the-go days I just tie my hair up because the perm turns into mini waves and I'd just twist them all up into a bun! rofl.

Multi-tasking at its best!

I seriously don't know how everyone else does one thing the whole day. It's not something I'm used to alt-tabbing my ass off the whole day. I'm guilty of it. I can work without music/internet..I just gotta have my e-books and Evernote - have I told you I'm in love with this app!?

SO I FINALLY GOT MY iTouch! I was so excited yesterday. JL helped me start things up and I've been downloading essential apps to it. Is there any way I can save all my books in there? As the thought of buying myself a tablet is fading, I'm sad to be limited by the internet. Anyway! I like the camera plus I get internet at home anyway. So there! I like having pictures in every one of my entries. Time to start now!

On other news: I'm done with Christmas shopping. I bought two jackets yesterday. One from Zara  and the other F21-and it's time to justify. The thick jacket I'll be needing for my Beijing trip next year and the other one I've always wanted ever since I grabbed a mental picture of both ^^

I remember this project we did in highschool where we put everything you want in a scrap book. See our mind registers visual images better than written lists. And so within a year or so, we tend to subconsciously/consciously cross each one off the list. It works, I tell you!

Focus

[info]andrea_model

Could Sheldon Cooper (Big Bang Theory) be right? Should we just stick to one profession and focus on that for the rest of our lives? Personally, it wouldn’t do for me. I’ve got a lot of interests but maybe I’ve got a tendency to spread myself too thinly.

Jack of all trades, master of none..do I really want to be a part of it? Well then I guess one can’t just have everything but MAN wouldn’t it be great to have a significant contribution despite all your interests?

Being on TV/politics doesn’t epitomize your success. In our culture, we always have this want to put all our stars in the public eye. Let them be in their element and they’ll shine brighter.

Omakase Il Terazzo

Clockwise (Cheska, Me, JL, Rex, Kat and JR)

These girls, I've spent a lot of firsts with. We saw each other grow up. We're mostly apart but the bond we formed while dancing to 90s music, sleeping on the same bed, doing each other's hair and make up... after more than ten years of friendship we're still those giggly girls who can laugh it out until 2am.
Who knew I'd be spending the afternoon at Fuente while Chekay was on her way there as well!? Talagang pag hindi pinaplano, natutuloy. I was just tweeting about Omakase and how me, cheska and abby wanted eat there! It then lead to a movie and some kwentuhan. More of this please!

So I re-joined Twitter. I know I know.. I hate over-sharing on social media but the tradeoff is so much worth it. I found the instant updating of news, current events and chika so good for me! PLUS I get to do these lists which make it so much easier to manage, focus or ignore stuff you don't need on your timeline. What a life-saver tweetdeck is.

How I wish I have my iTouch
NOW!

aand it's MY MONTH!

[info]andrea_model

So finally I did the first two moves of my November! Well, the first one, almost.
  1. Have I told you how hard it is to have yourself enrolled in UP? I'm finally getting my Masters degree in Interior Design starting this semester. It's not yet done!!!!!!! Compared to UST's enrollment process..well let's just say the UP process is manual.
  2. I got my digital perm done! la lalalalaaa i can't stop touching my hair. Bought curly hair mousse for ze hair on the way home. I'm so happy about it. My stylist told me I've practically abused my hair and this is the final stunt. I must let my hair grow into it's natural glory and stop all the chemicals going on my hair.
  3. My paganda c/o Beauty Runway. IPL++ haha! Let's just say i'm not going to waste a lot of time worrying about my hair for a while. I'm SO HAPPY I'm doing this.
  4. On-going yoga classes (which I didn't go to today because I have to follow the stylist's orders of no wetting my hair for two days. le sigh.
SO! No more relax/rebond/color/highlights for me. SERIOUSLY. I've practically exhausted my pent up frustration during the years in which I couldn't touch my hair, put color, cut short, rebond, perm..etc etc. I've gotten the ball rolling with my savings account and my hair has been a HUGE part of my outgoing cash the past two years. This is the last thing I'll be doing before letting my hair grow out ^^

TAH DAAAH!!!
